Shutting down

September 4th, 2011

Snacktime String is shutting down. For now at least. I’m too busy and can’t keep with it anymore. The good news is, You can still buy snacktime string at Yoyoguy! (Which I encourage you to do.)

Also, the website will remain up for the time being, (just the store will be taken down) and I welcome you to still email me at snacktimestring@gmail.com, to chat, ask questions, whatever.

Peace!

Worlds!

August 7th, 2011

Wow, I had a great Worlds experience this year.

I got the opportunity to actually bring my string rig and make strings there, in the main hall. It was super fun and very rewarding to get to make strings for people on a personal level and demo my method for string making. I loved the interest and instant feedback people gave me. It was all very positive, encouraging, and uplifting.

My thanks go out to all who gave me a kind word or a smile!

Also, to those who bought string from me and will in the future buy strings from me, thank you very much!

This is the part where I put the pipe in the middle and fold the strings over it.

Two trick clips

April 7th, 2011

This is the new stuff I’ve been working on. I am still making a full-length (three-ish minute) video, but I didn’t want to wait before posting these.

The Jellyfish is basically a picture trick, except that the picture moves around. It moves like that squid in Super Mario.

And this one is just throwing a few different slacks together. I had started off trying to make a trick that felt like Kamikaze, but ended up pretty far from that.

I hope you liked them!

Video in the making

March 20th, 2011

I’m finally getting around to making another video. We filmed a little yesterday and will film more today. I don’t know yet if the video will be awesome, but it feels awesome to be making videos again. :)

Here’s an old one of my favorites of me.

Throw on!

Just thought I’d drop a note here to say I’ve got some yoyos up for sale over on Yoyonation’s forum.

See my sale thread

Of course, I still have strings for sale here.

It has been a while!

November 3rd, 2010

We’re still here and going string strong! We passed our 1-year anniversary so I guess that means we’re not upstart noobs anymore. Things have been a bit less active since my brother turned full ownership of Snacktimestring to me, so it is I alone running the company. Hooray!

I don’t know what else to say than ask a simple question.

What do you want that Snacktimestring can give?

Glow yo V2

September 5th, 2010

My buddies from yoyo club, Brandon Schandler and David Chapman, picked up a couple of YYF’s new glow-in-the-dark yoyo, the Star Lite, at Worlds. Using their GITD yoyos, Snacktime’s neon strings and a couple of blacklights they made this video.

The yellow string is David and the orange one is Brandon.

Pretty good. I think they filmed it with a webcam, but the quality is still pretty high.

Snacktime gets a team!

August 18th, 2010

I would like to proudly announce that Snacktimestring has it’s first official team member. In the past we haven’t thought it would really make sense to have a team, since we are a string company, not a yoyo company, but that has changed. I met a lot of people at worlds, all of them awesome yoyoers, but I met one who changed my mind about having a team.

He’s passionate about yoyoing, he has no inhibitions when it comes to the hobby he loves. He takes his role as a snacktime team member seriously, he persistently begged me to let him on the team and he’s eager to earn his spot by actively promoting our string and the sport of yoyoing. He’s really good for his age, he can do a lot of tricks that I can’t even do and he just turned twelve!

Meet Matthew Haworth

Isn't he like, super cool?

Yes, he's like, super cool.

Name: Matthew Haworth

Age: 12

Yoyo experience: 10 months

Location: Orlando, FL

Date expected to win Worlds: 2014

I will post a new video of him in the next blog, until then, here’s his Vimeo account: http://www.vimeo.com/user4258044

Huzzah!

Worlds 2010

August 16th, 2010

I don’t know where to start so I guess I’ll start with the part of Worlds that means the most to me: the people. I met new friends, got to hang out with old friends, and even speak to a few yoyo rockstars. So right now I’m gonna give a shout-out to all (hopefully) of those cool people. (In no particular order)

Randy Jansen, Matthew Haworth, Doctor Popular, Landon Balk, CJ Atkinson, Kyle Casteline, Andrew, Ryan Gordon, Brandon Jackson, David Maddox, Jon Martin, Augie Fash, Guy Write, Ben, Andrew McKenzie, Leah Rupert, Alex Bika, Layse Hartman, Connor, Sk!p, Vooie, Brett Wendrzyk, Will Niemeier, Samm Scott, Tyler, Seth Stewart, David Chapman, Brandon Schandler, Steven Kinder, Uri Gottschalk, Charles Schluer, Team Foxland guy, the kid I met in line for registration, some other kid, some guy who’s name escapes me at the moment, and that other guy who’s name I can’t remember.

If you’re not listed and I met you, you’re probably one of the ambiguous people at the end of the list. (Just to cover my butt ^____^)

Man, I met a lot of people, learned a lot, taught a lot, was awed by the performances a lot, bought yoyos a lot, yoyoed a lot; it was the best three days of my year.

Another thing that means a lot to me that I got from the experience is the Encouragement. It’s the most vivid and meaningful thing I took away from this year’s Worlds. (despite having gotten a bunch of new yoyos)

That’s why Snacktimestring will be amping up its string production, product line, and starting an official team!

Look for updates and follow our progress in the coming months!
